A small, curated library of synthetic people.
This Face Not Exist is a practical image collection for designers, developers and creators who need fictional portraits without borrowing a stranger’s identity.
How the collection was made
The portraits currently published on this site were produced in batches with Google’s Imagen image-generation model through the Google GenAI API. The site curates and presents those outputs; it does not train or operate a proprietary StyleGAN model.
Generation prompts ask for adult, safe-for-work, photorealistic portraits across different visual styles and backgrounds. Files are reviewed before being added to the public manifest, but visual review cannot guarantee that an AI-generated face is unique or cannot resemble an existing person by coincidence.

What it should not be used for
Do not use these images to impersonate a real person, fabricate a testimonial or endorsement, mislead an audience, create fraudulent documents, or build a competing stock-image collection. The Terms of Service contain the complete usage conditions.
About the Real or AI challenge
The separate Real or AI game compares generated images with a limited set of real portrait examples. Those comparison photographs are not part of the downloadable synthetic collection. Appearance alone is not reliable proof that an image is authentic or generated.
Corrections and image concerns
If you believe an image is inappropriate, resembles you, or should be removed, please open a private or public contact request through the project’s GitHub issue tracker. Include the portrait number or page URL so it can be reviewed promptly.
